Walk With Him: The Strength You’ve Been Searching For Begins With Humility
Written by Francini Estes: December 10, 2025
You love your child so much it hurts.
Maybe you’re a mom navigating the emotional rollercoaster of parenting a child with mental health struggles or behavior challenges.
Maybe you’re praying over a teenager who won’t open up, or aching for a grown child who has left home—or the gospel.
You’ve cried. You’ve tried. You’ve prayed.
And still… some mornings, you wake up with more questions than strength.
If this is you, I want you to know: you’re not alone.
And you’re not powerless.
But maybe it’s time to stop carrying it all by yourself.

The Quiet Key: Humility
This line has been echoing in my heart.
Christ didn’t fight His way forward—He surrendered.
And through that surrender, He was strengthened.
The same invitation is extended to us as mothers.
When we stop resisting what we cannot control and start humbling ourselves before God, something sacred happens:
We make room for Him to step in.
We stop being a pitcher—constantly pouring until we’re dry.
We become a well—replenished daily by the divine.
Start With Morning Humility
Just like the earth was created spiritually before it was created physically, our days can begin in spiritual partnership before they unfold in real time.
This looks like:
Kneeling beside your bed with nothing but a tired whisper of, “Help me.”
Asking Heavenly Father to walk with you before the first meltdown, before the first text, before the to-do list.
Offering your day to Him—not as a polished plan, but as a surrendered heart.
Then: Pray Always. Carry Him With You.
Elder Bednar goes on to teach that “Pray Always” doesn’t mean long, wordy petitions—it means a continual connection.
When I walk with Him through my day, I think differently.
I speak differently.
I feel differently.
I stop reacting from fear or frustration.
I start responding from the divine within me.
Instead of thinking:
“Why would my child act like this?”
“Why won’t they just try harder?”
“How could they do this to me?”
I start thinking:
“What does my child need right now?”
“How can I stay connected even if we disagree?”
“What would Jesus see in this moment?”
This shift doesn’t come from willpower.
It comes from walking with Him.
The Law of Non-Resistance: Stop Fighting. Start Flowing.
In my coaching work, I often teach the Law of Non-Resistance:
Surrender brings peace. Humility releases the fight against “what is” and embraces God’s will.
We get stuck in stress when we fight reality.
We grow in strength when we flow with God—not in defeat, but in divine partnership through the power of the Holy Ghost.
The more I resist what is (“this shouldn’t be happening,” “I should be further along”), the more overwhelmed I become.
But when I surrender?
I become a well.

Want to Walk With Him Daily? Here's One Way:
Morning: Invite Him in.
“Father, walk with me today. I can’t do this alone—but I know I’m not meant to.”Midday: Keep a prayer in your heart.
“Help me see this child with Your eyes. Help me act from love, not fear.”Evening: Report back and receive rest.
“Thank You for strengthening me today. Show me where I can do better tomorrow.”
Humility is not weakness.
It’s the most courageous thing you can do.
“I do not know all things; but the Lord knoweth all things.”
(Words of Mormon 1:7)
You don’t have to walk alone.
He is calling: “Walk with me.”
And the miracle is—when you walk with Him, He walks with you.
